Our Story

Bonded Brew didn't start with some big idea or master plan. It started on a summer morning in Stockton, New Jersey.

A group of six of us got together for brunch and to do a little off-the-beaten-path shopping. We headed down to a place we had been to plenty of times before — great food, great atmosphere. And just as a side note, the brunch was fantastic!!!

After that, we heard about a small nursery nearby that had a café and a cocktail bar. To be honest, a cocktail bar in a nursery just sounded like a great idea, so we figured we'd check it out.

When we got there, the place just had a feel to it.

Calm, inviting, but still full of energy.

It reminded me of that feeling you get around the holidays — lights up, music playing, people you care about around you, except this was a beautiful summer morning. You could hear laughter, smell the morning dew, and take in everything that was in bloom.

I say all that because it really set the tone.

As we walked through, four of us decided to grab a cocktail. After about 30 minutes, we found a small nook and sat down at one of these handcrafted tables, just talking and finishing our drinks.

Then we decided to try the coffee.

And this is really where it all started.

We sat there talking — reminiscing, laughing, telling stories like we were at home.

At one point, my friend, and now co-founder, Todd said, “You know, we should really start a business.” He mentioned he had been thinking about doing something in the pet industry.

We talked about it for a few minutes, but as the conversation kept going, something clicked for me.

All of this — the laughter, the stories, the ideas — was happening with four friends sitting around a table sharing a simple cup of coffee.

So I looked at Todd and said, “We should start a coffee company.”

Because in that moment, it wasn't about the coffee, it was about what the coffee created.
